Whether you want something to keep your kids busy this summer or they want a year-round activity, dance classes are always a good option. Kids naturally want to move their bodies, and dance classes give them that chance while teaching them about music, rhythm and learning techniques. Check out some of the many dance classes around Houston that are geared especially towards kids.

Included in the dance menu at the Houston Dance Factory are classes in ballet, salsa and hip-hop. Toddlers can also take their own hip-hop or ballet classes. Children’s dance classes last 45 minutes and are offered at various times throughout the week. For first-time participants, the studio requires a $25 registration fee.

Toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy pre-ballet and creative movement classes. The techniques learned at the Claire School of Dance have helped some former students successfully audition and become accepted into the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) and the Houston Ballet Academy. Parents may enroll their children in either summer camps or year-round classes. What makes this dance studio unique is that it offers birthday parties with fairy princess crowns for all of the guests and a special crown and tutu for the birthday girl. The party includes a creative movement class that lasts up to 45 minutes and access to the party room for cutting your provided cake and opening presents.
