He says the defense definitely is something that needs continued work for the team this season.
Road Trip: Denver Day 3Tonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip went to Denver for the third day of Texans and Broncos practice. They spoke to James Palmer, CSN Houston, who is in Denver about what happened at practice. Palmer thinks that the reason guys like Chris Myers are sitting out is because he already knows they are on the team and so he is focusing on playing more guys who are on the bubble and still have to make their mark. He thinks Arian Foster is looking really good despite not saying much to the media. He gave updates of how several of the veteran players have been doing in practice this week.
Road Trip: Denver Day 2Tonight The B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip traveled to Denver for Day 2 of the Texans practices with the Broncos. James Palmer, CSN Houston, had the scoop from Denver. He said he didn't see exactly what happened to Clowney and the Texans are not telling anyone exactly what took him off the field today. Palmer talked about JJ Watt beating everyone at practice and being all smiles about it. He said that Fitzpatrick was looking pretty good at practice and was really accurate with the football today. Palmer was not impressed with what Louis Nix has been able to do so far and thinks Powe might steal his spot.
Road Trip: James Palmer In DenverThe B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip will be spending most of the week in Denver touching on Texans practices there. Today the guys checked in with James Palmer of CSN Houston for his observations. He talked about all the guys coming back from injuries and looking good on the field today especially Arian Foster. Palmer said the team has felt very frustrated with Louis Nix's injury issues. He discussed how tight lipped the Broncos have been about tweeting from practice. Palmer thinks Peyton Manning was using bit of coach speak when he said that the Broncos sucked at practice today because he was still doing well and hitting his target a lot of the time. He thinks that Cushing could play Saturday because he was a lot more active in practice than he has been before now.
Road Trip: BostonTonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show travled to Boston to talk to Chris Villani, WEEI and Boston Herald, about the Patriots. He isn't sure that Garoppolo going into the game before Ryan Mallet means that he's moved ahead of Mallet because Mallet has been working on a knee issue. He discussed a lot of the recent player moves and changes in the depth chart for the Patriots. He said having guys like Gronkowski healthy really makes all the difference for the team and how they will do in the season. Villani thinks the Patriots have added well to their offense and he likes the defense but still thinks their division is Denver's to lose.
Road Trip: JacksonvilleTonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip traveled to Jacksonville. There they talked to Mark Long, Associated Press, about the Jaguars and Blake Bortles. He said that the Jaguars are trying not to put too much pressure on Bortles so he can learn and step up when he's ready to do so. Long talked about how the secondary is doing so far in the preseason and how they are working on the pass rush. He also talked about how they are addressing issues with penalties. He says the Jaguars look like they have made good strides towards improving.
Road Trip: Dallas & BuffaloTonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip traveled to Dallas and Buffalo. First they drove up to Dallas to talk to Mike Fisher, 105.3 The Fan about the Orlando Scandrick four game suspension for drug use. He also discussed some of the other player issues with the Cowboys recently. Fisher discussed the fact that the Cowboys announced that Tony Romo was ready for camp when he wasn't caused a stir with fans. Then they flew over to Buffalo to talk to Dave Buchannan, WGR, about the Tony Stewart accident. He says it is impossible to know what Tony Stewart saw due to limited visibility in his vehicle so we may never know but he doesn't think he intended to hit Kevin Ward Jr with his race car. Buchannan thinks that the accident could have been a split second decision gone wrong.
