This year’s FREE event will be from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19 inside the University of Houston Athletics Alumni Center.


Fan Fest includes tons of activities for the whole family

  • Enter thru the BUD LIGHT ZONE outside the main doors to Fan Fest! We will have a register to win for former Fan Fest Athletes autographed posters!
  • Brad Davis and Tally Hall from the Houston Dynamo will be hanging out in the Texan Buick GMC Dodge skill zone
  • UFC Local Fighters Daniel Pineda and Andrew Craig will be onsite hanging out with the fans
  • Kids can go wild in the Whataburger Kid Zone, including a bounce house!
  • Your favorite Houston Sports teams will be on hand with fun and games! Houston Texans, Houston Dynamo, Houston Astros!
  • Check out the Sparring Ring Area with Lou Savarese
  • Take a peek in the Fan Fest PODS outside! It will be displaying great autographed merchandise from JJ Watt, Craig Biggio, Bum Phillips, James Harden and MORE!!!!
  • The University of Houston Heisman will be on display and you can get a chance to get your picture with it!

Rudy Tomjanovich – The original Houston Rocket was a 5x NBA All-Star between 1974 and 1979. Then as coach he led the Rockets to two NBA Championships in 1994 and 1995. While coaching the Rockets Rudy T would be called upon to coach the US Basketball team in the 2000 Olympic games, where he would lead the team to gold.

*You will need a wristband to get an autograph with Rudy T. Wristbands will be available starting at 12noon in the BUD LIGHT ZONE outside of main entrance to Fan Fest. Limited number of wristbands will be available that day, first come first serve.

Tiki Barber – Former member of the New York Giants, network television star and co-host of the national syndicated CBS Sports Morning Show. Tiki is a three-time Pro Bowler and holds the career rushing title for the NY Giants.

Brooks Reed – The Houston Texans starting linebacker came to Houston in 2011 after being drafted by The Texans in the second round of the NFL Draft. Reed was named to the first team all Pac-10 and in Reed’s first start he recorded six tackles. In his second game as a starter, Brooks recorded his first sack.

*Brooks Reed will be photographs only. NO AUTOGRAPHS. Photographs will be taken by SportsRadio 610 only and posted on the station website by Monday Afternoon 5/20/13. You will need a wristband to get a photograph with Brooks Reid. Wristbands will be available starting at 12noon in the BUD LIGHT ZONE outside of main entrance to FanFest. Randy Bullock – The Klein native attended Texas A&M where after completing 29 of his 33 field goal attempts during his 2011 senior season, he received the Lou Groza Award, given annually to the best college football placekicker. He was also recognized as a consensus first-team All-American. The Houston Texans then selected Bullock in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL draft becoming the first ever kicker drafted by the team.

Drew Pearson – One of the Dallas Cowboys all time greats whose signature moment was being on the receiving end of Roger Staubach’s “Hail Mary” pass. Super Bowl Champion and three- time Pro Bowler. Drew was also selected to the NFL’s 1970’s All Decade Team.

Johny Hendricks – The Number One contender for the UFC Welterweight Title. Johny, aka Bigg Rigg, resides in Dallas, Texas. Alumni of Oklahoma State University he was 56-1 in his college wrestling career.

Jose Cruz – Jose is a former outfielder for the Houston Astros. The 2x All-Star is also a former first base coach for the team. His number, 25, was retired by the Astros in 1992. Cruz is also a member of the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame.

Robert Brazile – Original member of Houston Oiler’s Luv Ya Blue! “Dr. Doom” is one of the NFL’s all time sack leaders. Also selected to the NFL’s 1970’s All Decade Team. Robert is a seven-time Pro Bowler and the 1975 Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Seth Payne – Original Houston Texan, 10 year NFL veteran and out spoken NFL commentator on SportsRadio 610’s MaD Radio. He recorded the first safety in Texans history by sacking the Dallas Cowboys quarterback leading the team to it’s first win in franchise history. Seth is an ivy league graduate of Cornell University.

Jacob Green – The former Texas A&M star is second all time in school history for career sacks and holds the record for fumbles caused. Green was then selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks where he went on to 2 Pro-Bowls and and recorded over 100 career sacks.

Barret Robbins – Houston native and TCU alumni. Barret is a former Oakland Raiders All-Pro Center. Central figure in one the Super Bowl’s most notorious controversy’s.

Ted Johnson – Three-time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots, NFL pioneer for head injury research and co-host of The Fred & Ted Show on SportsRadio 610.

Keenan McCardell – Keenan is a Houston native and alumni of Waltrip High School. Multiple Pro Bowler NFL wide receiver, 17 year NFL veteran, two-time Super Bowl Champion and regular contributor to In the Loop with Nick & Lopez on SportsRadio 610.

Richmond Webb – The Former Texas A&M star was the 9th selection of the 1990 NFL draft going to the Miami Dolphins. While with the Dolphins he would earn 7 Pro-Bowl selections. Webb is also a part of the the All-Decade team for the 1990’s and is in the Dolphins Honor Roll.

Lou Savarese – The 4 time champion boxer has a career record of 46-7 facing such guys as Mike Tyson, Evandor Holyfield, Buster Douglas, George Foreman and more. Lou is a 2 time Golden Glove winner and now lives in Houston where he runs a gym training the next generation of fighters.

Paul Emerick – Emerick played university rugby with the University of Northern Iowa Panthers and senior rugby with the Chicago Lions before moving to Italian rugby. He was first capped by the USA Eagles in April 2003 and, as of September 2011, had been capped 45 more times. As of June 19, 2012, Emerick had notched 14 career tries for the United States, ranking him second on the all-time list and first among active players.

Daniel Pineda, UFC Featherweight – Daniel Pineda was the featherweight champion of Legacy Fighting Championships. None of his fights with Legacy went to decision with notable wins over fighters such as WEC veteran Frank Gomez. Daniel Pineda’s fights with Legacy Fighting Championships were always exciting and his last fight with Legacy Fighting Championships before he went to the UFC ended in a TKO by spinning backfist at Legacy Fighting Championships 9.

Andrew Craig, UFC Middleweight – Craig is from Houston, Texas, and grew up playing hockey and football. He attended college at the University of Texas where he earned a degree in corporate communications. Craig began learning Brazilian jiu-jitsu from his cousin who was a black belt in the martial art. After graduating college, Craig began his career as a professional MMA fighter.
