The Rockets want Toyota Center full before they tip-off game five against the Oklahoma City Thunder Tuesday night, so on Monday, they gave fan a little extra incentive to get to their seats early.
Rockets CEO Tad Brown announced the doors to Toyota Center will open at 5:30, 90-minutes before tip off, and when they do, fans can indulge in dollar beers, sodas, hot dogs, and nachos. Brown said the Rockets plan to work with the city of Houston to have extra security help ease traffic issues around the arena.
Along with the cheap food and drink, the Rockets plan on having a local band perform before and after pregame warmups, and former Rockets guard Vernon Maxwell, a crowd favorite, will address the arena with Brown adding “Max wants the opportunity to get the crowd riled up.”
Maxwell was the starting shooting guard on the Rockets 1994 championship team who isn’t shy about expressing his opinions on social media.
We only lost last game bc we wanted to close things out at Toyota Center.
