Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Donatas Motiejunas and Houston Rockets back and forth dominated the headlines early in the season.

Just when would the seven-footer contract drama ever end?

The Rockets ended up giving Motiejunas a deal worth a reported 37 million dollars over four years, but for whatever reason when it was all said and done he ended up with the New Orleans Pelicans for the league minimum.

Despite losing out not only millions of dollars but also lots of potential playing time, Motiejunas isn’t worried about what could have been with the Rockets.

“Life is too short to regret for something, the decision was made, I can not look back,” Donatas Motiejunas said Friday. “This is the NBA if you think about last night’s game and tomorrow you’re going to have another one and you’re still thinking you’re going to lose tomorrow’s game too, so you just have to move it aside and move forward.”

Motiejunas is on a one-year contract with the Pelicans and while he wasn’t able to get what he wanted this season he knows everything will work itself out.

“In the end, everything is going to be cleared out, everyone’s going to forget after this year, everyone’s going to forget the situation,” Motiejunas said. “I just try not and think about it and from my side I’m just happy to play basketball and be on the floor.”
