Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans defense has taken another hit. Per reports outside linebacker John Simon is leaving for the Indianapolis Colts.

Simon joined the Texans after his rookie season with the Baltimore Ravens.

In Houston and underneath his former college position coach in Mike Vrabel, Simon became a valuable member of the Texans defense collecting 10 sacks in his three years with the team.

Simon becomes the third member of last year’s number one ranked defense to sign with another team. Cornerback A.J. Bouye has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and safety Quintin Demps signed with the Chicago Bears.

Without Simon, the Texans depth is pretty scarce at outside linebacker. The team will need to pick up someone through free-agency or the draft to help fill depth.
