Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – On Radio Row, Hall of Fame Quarterback Warren Moon gave his thoughts on struggling Houston Texans Quarterback Brock Osweiler. He empathized that there is still time to decide if Brock can be the Texans starter.

“I think the jury is still out… I think he needs at least one more offseason and another season, and if that doesn’t work out next year then you start thinking about maybe what you need to do, but you can’t give a guy one season. He went to the playoffs, so he was good enough to get you there. But we’ll see after another season,” Moon said.

Despite the overwhelming throwing problems that fans have seen from Osweiler, Moon says that those troubles can be fixed.

“The accuracy thing can be improved, and I think there’s some things in his mechanics that he can work on this offseason, if he’s willing to put the time in, that will make him an efficient quarterback.”

The most glaring problem to the Hall of Fame Quarterback though was the lack of reliability from Brock.

“I think the big thing for him his consistency because we’ve seen flashes where he really looks good for certain stages of a game, for certain stages of a few games. Even in Denver he showed over a period of three or four games he could really play the game, and then there are games that you say ‘well what’s wrong with this guy this week’… Every now and then you’re going to have a bad performance, that just happens, but you can’t have more of those than you have good ones and I think that’s where he is right now. He needs to be a little bit more consistent in his play,” Moon said.
