Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans were getting help from Wes Welker at the Senior bowl this last week and now it is reported that he will join the staff at NRG Stadium full time.

SportsRadio 610’s John McClain reported on Monday that the former Patriots wide receiver will join the Texans coaching staff.

Welker last played in the NFL in 2015 and did play in New England when Bill O’Brien coached for the Patriots.  The Texans promoted Sean Ryan from wide receivers coach to quarterbacks coach early this offseason after letting go of Offensive Coordinator George Godsey.
