Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Houston Texans third-year defensive end Jadeveon Clowney made his return to practice after missing Sunday’s game with the Green Bay Packers.

“I want to be out there to help my team, but I felt like if I was out there I wouldn’t have helped us as much as I could have, so I don’t think it was a good idea for me to play,” Clowney said of missing Sunday’s game.

Elbow and wrist injuries kept him out of the lineup Sunday and out of practice Wednesday. But now he’s feeling better, even going as far as sharing that he will play in this Sunday’s must-win game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Clowney on the year may only have three sacks, but he does have a team-high nine tackle for losses.

With outside linebacker John Simon likely to miss another week a chest injury, getting Clowney back to help put pressure on Colts quarterback Andrew Luck will go a long way in trying to stop their passing attack.
