DENVER (CBS HOUSTON) – Houston Texans right tackle Derek Newton left Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos in the first quarter with an apparent leg injury.
Newton’s right knee buckled as he was trying to pass block Von Miller on a 3rd down play inside Broncos territory. The training staff placed air casts on both legs before he was placed onto a cart and was taken off the field.
Former Broncos lineman Chris Clark replaced Newton on the line.
Newton missed last week’s match-up against the Colts with an ankle injury. Newton has dealt with leg injuries for the entire season dating back to training camp.
UPDATE: NFL Media’s Ian Rapport is reporting that the injury to Newton is in both of his patella tendons
