HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano joked on Wednesday that in just about every press conference in which he participates, the offensive line struggles seems to be the go-to topic of discussion.

When his club face their AFC South rival Houston on Sunday, they may not have to deal with JJ Watt, but that doesn’t mean the Colts and Luck won’t have to deal with a solid pass rush from the Texans in the form of Jadeveon Clowney.

“(Clowney) is playing as good as anybody in the league right now up front,” Pagano said complimenting the Texans defensive end. “We know the athleticism, we know the god given dominant traits that he has as a football player, but his motor is running and it’s running hot and it never stops.”

The kind words for the Texans defense didn’t end with Clowney as Pagano pointed out the versatility of Whitney Mercilus as both a run-stopper and a pass rusher.

“He’s a threat,” Pagano said glowingly about the Texans linebacker. “(Mercilus) sets the edge in the run game and he’s a nightmare off the edge. He’s got a couple great moves that he’s mastered as far as pass rush technique goes. He’s athletic and he’s relentless.”
