The week of September 27th, SportsRadio 610 and the Advocare Texas Bowl teamed up to host an on-air auction, benefiting DePelchin Children’s Center. The auction winner had the opportunity to play with a sports legend, from Vince Young, RC Slocum, Johnny Roland, Gerald McNeil and others who were scheduled to participate. The tournament started Monday, October 24th at Golf Club of Houston, home of the PGA Tour’s Shell Houston Open with a shotgun start at 1:30, and the winner received a Premium gift bag for each player, lunch, dinner and drinks provided for each player, 4x tickets, 4x Pre Game sideline passes and a VIP parking pass to the Texas Bowl game, as well as a private dinner for four in the Texans Room at Pappas Bros Steakhouse Downtown with legendary journalist John McClain. SportsRadio 610 and the Advocare Texas Bowl were able to raise $2000 through this on air auction for DePelchin Children’s Center.

100% of proceeds from the tournament and auction benefited DePelchin Children’s Center, Houston’s oldest children’s charity and official charity partner of the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl. DePelchin Children’s Center believes that every child deserves to be safe and healthy.   An accredited foster care and adoption agency, DePelchin serves the most vulnerable children and families in Texas and works to break the cycles of abuse and neglect.  Their approach to caring for children integrates prevention, foster care, adoption and post-adoption programs to improve the mental health and physical well-being of children at risk of entering or within the State’s child welfare system.  Founded as an orphanage in 1892, DePelchin is a nonprofit organization with locations throughout Houston and across Texas and gratefully receives support from individuals, foundations, corporations, government grants and the United Way.
