HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – The Texans won’t be facing Colts franchise quarterback Andrew Luck on Sunday according to Colts head coach Chuck Pagano.

“Andrew’s not going to play just to be perfectly clear on that,” Pagano said Thursday.

Although Luck returned to the practice field today for the Colts he isn’t cleared for full activity yet according to Pagano. Luck can participate in individual drills.

Matt Hasselbeck is who Pagano expects to start on Sunday, but there is one issue.

He missed practice today too.

“(Hasselbeck) was down today, we rested him. Looks like he’ll be ready to play tomorrow.”

Charlie Whitehurst took the quarterback snaps with the other two Colts passers not practicing.

Hasselbeck played earlier this year against the Texans helping the Colts win in Houston. He completed 18 of 29 passes throwing for 213 yards and two touchdowns. The win over the Texans is the game where Hasselbeck has his highest quarterback rating this season.

Before Pagano announced Luck was out Bill O’Brien said he was preparing for “everybody” and noted the challenges that Luck could have presented the Texans. He said he has to do a good job of showing all the skills the various quarterbacks possess.
