HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Texans tight end Ryan Griffin dropped a Brian Hoyer pass at the nine-minute mark in the third quarter as the Texans went for it on fourth down.
It killed their momentum.
When asked if it killed their momentum Griffin said “yeah, for sure” and mentioned the team’s struggles on third down led to their struggles on fourth down as well.
Though not asked about it directly about the call to go for it, O’Brien did say his offense played “terrible” but credited the Patriots gameplan.
“You wish we would’ve got it,” said Jared Crick who went on to say no matter what happens on offense the defense needs to take car of their business.
“Our job on defense, no matter what the offense is gonna do, we’ve got to go out there and execute every play.”
Jadeveon Clowney echoed Crick’s comments.
“That’s the coach’s call, you’ve got talk to him about that,” he said. “If they make it we keep moving if they don’t we’ve got to strap up and go play.”
