HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – The best wide receiver in football is next up for the Texans defensive backs.

Julio Jones is off to a blistering pace through three games. He has more receptions in those initial few games than anyone in history at this point. 34 catches for four touchdowns and 440 yards while leaving a wake of burnt cornerbacks in his path.

“Everybody knows what Julio can do,” said Texans rookie cornerback Kevin Johnson. “It’s definitely going to be a challenge.”

Johnson said it is cool to go against a guy he watched on TV saying it was a “dream come true” to compete against Jones now.

It could be a nightmare for the Texans if they can’t slow him down.

“I know the talent he is, so it speaks for itself,” said Jonathan Joseph about the Falcons star wideout. “Rather he’s putting those number up or not, he’s capable of beating you any Sunday by himself.”

Joseph, who had one of his best games in recent memory against the Buccaneers, knows it won’t be an easy task slowing down the red-hot pass catcher.

“It takes a team effort,” he said. “Everyone on defense doing their job. Rushing the passer and guys doing their jobs back in coverage assignments. Things like that.

“Obviously you know it’s going to be a full day’s task but you know you just have to prepare throughout the week and go out and play the game.”
