HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – The Texans aren’t quite putting the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs behind them just yet, and some are letting it linger longer than others.
“Not long,” Kareem Jackson said when asked how long a loss like Sunday’s sticks around in their minds. “We’ll watch it today, make corrections. First game, we’ve got 15 more games. For us, we’ve just got to make corrections and you know go back to work this week.”
Nate Washington echoed Jackson’s sentiments about fixing the team’s mistakes.
“I’m pretty sure they already have the corrections for us,” said the veteran wide receiver. “These guys will come in here throughout this week and bust their tails. Come out and do what is asked of us this week coming up.
“I think anything is pretty much, very easily correctable with a team that’s a hard-working team.”
Duane Brown won’t have a short memory. This performance lingers.
“Think about it quite a bit,” he said, “because I know we had a lot of opportunities. A lot of opportunities to take that game over.
“Our defense came out in the second half and gave us plenty of opportunities to come out and play our game and get up on those guys.”
The squandering of the impressive performance in the second half by the defense stings Brown.
“Kansas City played a heck of a game, but I think we left a lot out there. And so those are the type of games you sit with for a while.”
