Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Astros have signed the number two overall draft pick Alex Bregman, MLB.com is reporting.

Bregman landed in Houston Wednesday and said he signed his deal with the Astros.

Bregman said he “thinks” he will be introduced Thursday prior to the Astros game against the Yankees at Minute Maid Park.

“It was something I dreamed about when we came here this spring,” Bregman told MLB.com about joining the Astros’ organization. “Loved playing here, loved the facility, loved everything. The field was amazing. I was really hoping that maybe I would be an Astro, and it ended up working out.”

Bregman played in the College World Series with LSU before the Bayou Bengals were bounced last week.
