PURCELL, Okla. (CBS Houston) – An Oklahoma couple has been arrested on charges of “crashing” funerals over the weekend.
Purcell police say Valerie Rae Zoski and Jamie Carl Clark forced their red truck into a funeral procession.
Zoski honked, shouted, and dragged an American flag through her window as she interrupted the procession and allegedly tried hitting police officers, damaging one patrol car after an officer tried to use a tactical maneuver to stop her, according to the police report.
Police say Zoski eventually made it onto the cemetery and drove over several graves while another funeral was coming to an end.
“Painful to hear that someone has disrespected someone else’s grief,” Detective Scott Stephens told KOCO-TV.
According to KOCO, Clark told police he was only in the truck because he needed a ride.
Officers were finally able to catch the truck and realized an unbuckled 7-year-old girl was also inside.
Zoski was arrested and has ten charges pending. She is being held on $25,000 bond at the McClain County Detention Center.
She failed a drug test after being taken into custody. “Good, cause I took two hits of meth earlier,” police say she commented after being informed of her failed drug test.
Clark was arrested on two charges and is being held on $1,000 bond.
The child is currently staying with a relative.
