HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Amid all the positives from the Rockets’ night, from the 10-point win over the Nuggets to James Harden’s 50-point night, there was one blemish on the evening.
Terrence Jones is hurt.
The Rockets’ power forward started off with 10 points in the opening eight minutes of the game, but had to leave with a rib injury. He was out for the remainder of the game.
“He’s at the hospital,” Rockets head coach Kevin McHale said afterwards. “They’ll keep him overnight. They’re doing some more tests on him.
“Terrence had 10 points in eight minutes,” McHale added. “He might’ve been trying to rival James (Harden’s 50 points) if he hadn’t gotten hurt. I think Terrence will be done for a little bit. I think it’s pretty sore, so we’ll have to go with Josh (Smith) and Joey (Dorsey).”
Jones missed 41 games earlier this season with a nerve injury. He had averaged 12.1 points and 7.2 rebounds in 21 games since his return on January 28.
