HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – According to multiple reports, the Texans have traded former UH star quarterback Case Keenum to the Rams.
The Texans will reportedly receive a 2016 seventh-round pick in exchange for Keenum.
Earlier in the day, it was reported the Texans had tendered Keenum as an exclusive rights free agent.
After being on the Texans’ practice squad in 2012, Keenum took over as the Texans’ starting quarterback for Matt Schaub in the middle of 2013. After getting cut during training camp the next season, he re-joined the Texans when the team’s quarterback depth chart was besieged by injuries. Keenum closed the season winning both his starts, throwing for two touchdowns and two interceptions.
This would be Keenum’s second go-round with the Rams in his young career. When he got cut by the Texans in 2014 in training camp, he latched on with the Rams and was on their practice squad when the Texans brought him back.
