HOUSTON (CBS Houston): Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins had surgery on his right wrist after the season.
Hopkins said he had the procedure to repair a torn ligament in his wrist. This is the same injury that Hopkins was listed as dealing with on the Texans’ Week 17 injury report. Hopkins caught only 2 of 6 targets Week 17 vs. the Jaguars for 5 yards. It was his lowest output of the season.
Hopkins had a pin and rod inserted into his wrist, and has been in a cast, which he said he was having removed ‘today’ (Saturday).
Hopkins said he would be able to resume normal activities in ‘a couple of weeks’. He called the procedure ‘minor’ and doesn’t expect it to be a concern going forward.
Hopkins finished 2014 with 76 receptions for 1.210 yards and 6 TDs, all career highs, while establishing himself as the Texans’ top receiver.
