HOUSTON – (CBS HOUSTON) – For the second straight game the Houston Rockets let a second half lead slip through their fingers, the ending was a different result. James Harden’s three-point play with 28.2 remaining re-claimed the lead for the Rockets after surrendering an 18 point deficit in a 95-92 win over the Dallas Mavericks Saturday night at Toyota Center.
Harden finished the game with 32 points and eight rebounds to pace the Rockets. Donatas Motiejunas, starting again for the injured Terrence Jones, added 14 points and 12 rebounds.
The Rockets spoiled Chandler Parson’s return to Houston as the former Rocket scored only eight points and missed all five three-point attempts for the Mavericks. Monta Ellis led five double-figure scorers for Dallas with 17 points and six rebounds.
The Rockets (10-3) sit a game behind Memphis for first place in the Southwest Division standings. They host the New York Knicks on Monday night at Toyota Center.
