Houston (CBS Houston) – Former second round pick D.J. Sweaeringer appears to have lost his starting safety spot. According to an official announcement made in the Brown’s press box, Danieal Manning will start in Swearinger’s place against Cleveland.

Swearinger has had an up and down 2014 season totaling 46 tackles, one sack, three forced fumbles, and one interception. Despite the benching Swearinger, will likely see the field plenty today in the Texans nickel and dime defenses. For Manning, it’s a return to a starting spot he held for three years before being cut by the Texans this offseason. After a failed stint in Cincinnati, Manning returned to the Texans on a one year deal.
