Houston (CBS Houston) – Case Keenum’s NFL career appears to have hit another road block. Today the Rams decided to release the former Texan to make room for the newly acquired Mark Barron, according to multiple reports.
Keenum was waived by the Texans after they acquired Ryan Mallett via trade. Keenum never appeared in a game for Rams, who’ve had a littony of quarterback injuries.
Keenum, a university of Houston product, joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent three years ago. Last season he mad the active roster and started eight games, but failed to win a game. He completed 54 percent of his passes for 1,760 yard with nine touchdowns and six interception.
Keenum will now be placed on waivers. If unclaimed, he will become a free agent.
