HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON)  – The Houston Rockets stayed unbeaten in the preseason despite shooting just under 17% from behind the arc in a 95-92 victory over the Phoenix Suns Monday night at Toyota Center.

The Rockets, who played without Dwight Howard and James Harden, struggled to find their shot in the first half making just 16 of 39 shots. It was the Rockets defense that kept them within reach throughout the night as they led 44-40 at the end of the half.

The Suns would claim the lead in the second half, outscoring the Rockets 30-20 and led by as many as 10 in the period as the tandem of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic combined for 13 points in the period to pace the Suns.

The Rockets would rally in the final frame as sharpshooter Troy Daniels and reserve point guard Isaiah Canaan combined for 28 second half points to aid the Rockets comeback.

Terrence Jones led Houston with 18 points and adding seven boards.

The Rockets are 3-0 in the pre-season and have won nine straight pre-season games dating back to last season. A busy week for the Rockets continues Tuesday night as they travel to New Orleans to face the Pelicans. The Rockets will travel to the Rio Grande Valley, home of their NBA Development League affiliate, for practice and a preseason match-up Sunday against Golden State.
