Houston (CBS Houston) -After cutting Dennis Johnson, Tim Cornett and Andre Brown Monday night, the Texans signed running back William Powell, according ESPN’s Josina Anderson. They also signed running back Ronnie Brown, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.

Brown, the second overall pick in 2005, is entering his 10th year in the league. He spent his first six seasons in Miami and saw limited action last year in San Diego, tallying 45 carries for 127 yards. He has career totals of 5,328 yards rushing and 241 catches for 1,922 yds

Powell, 26, inked a two-year with the team. After graduating from Kansas State, he previously played for the Cardinals, Bengals and Eagles. He has 62 career carries for 217 yards.
