LAREDO, Texas (AP) — A load of kitchen parts has yielded more than 2 tons of smuggled marijuana during an inspection at a Texas border crossing.
Customs and Border Protection officials on Tuesday announced the drug bust at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo.
Officers on Friday confiscated about 4,100 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $3.3 million. Authorities also seized the truck hauling the load.
Drug-sniffing dogs helped lead to hundreds of packages of marijuana smuggled with a shipment of laminated range hoods.
Further details on the destination of the load weren’t immediately released.
