The Houston Texans big off season acquisition, Ed Reed, was activated from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. The move coincided with the Texans making their final roster cuts to get to their final 53 players on their active roster.
The activation is a good sign for the Texans who are looking for the Super Bowl champion to be a leader on one of the strongest defenses in the AFC.
It has not been announced when Reed will be ready to take the field for the Texans, but his activation is encouraging that the date will be sooner than later.
If the Texans chose to keep Reed on the PUP list or put him on the injured reserve he would have to miss at least the first six games of the season.
Reed was in Colorado earlier this week receiving injections from his surgeon. Head Coach Gary Kubiak says they hope to have him working on the field Monday or Tuesday, but no word yet on when he will see game action.
