Dallas (CBS Houston) – Wade Phillips’ returned Thursday night to AT&T Stadium for the first time since being fired as Cowboys head coach. Considering it was the fourth preseason game, his trip up I-45 couldn’t have gone much better.

Phillips’ defense held his former team to just 219 yards in the Texans 24-6 victory over the Cowboys. After the game he shook hands with Jerry Jones and made it clear there was no bad blood.

“Jerry is a close friend of mine and I know that sounds strange but it isn’t.” said Phillips

As Dallas reporters asked him to reminisce about his time in ‘Big D’ Phillips politely obliged but also made it clear, he’s a Texan now.

“We’ve got a good team here in Houston and I’m excited about being there. We’ve got an opportunity to go all the way,” Phillips continued “I have a home in Dallas if anybody wants it,  it’s going to be for sale here pretty soon.”
