Houston (CBS Houston)-The Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller is reportedly facing a four-game suspension.

UPDATED: Denver Post’s Mike Klis tweeted that Von Miller is going to put out a statement in another hour or two and that the suspension might be drug related.

Denver made huge splashes in the offseason by stealing Wes Welker from the Patriots. Not only will Welker be a great weapon for Peyton Manning, but the Broncos can breathe easier taking away a weapon from Tom Brady. They also picked up some Terrance Knighton and Louis Vasquez.

But they’re also making huge splashes that they’d like to forget. Elvis Dumervil left to join the Ravens due to a fax-machine gaff. Let’s not forget this month, two Broncos executives were suspended following arrests on DUI charges, and now Miller could potentially miss the first quarter of the season.

According to NFL Writer Will Brinson, “It’s entirely possible Miller is cleared of any wrongdoing through the appeals process (or that he has any possible suspension shortened to fewer than four games). But this is about as bad as the news could possibly get for the Broncos.”
