HOUSTON (CBS Houston) – In the past week, the Astros have called up three fielders from AAA Oklahoma City: infielder Jake Elmore, infielder Brett Wallace, and outfielder Marc Krauss. While Elmore and Wallace will stay for the time being, Krauss may be just a temporary addition. The outfielder will be replacing the injured Trevor Crowe who is on the 15-day DL.  Crowe sprained his right shoulder after chasing a home run and slamming into the wall.

From AA to AAA
The Astros also promoted two standout AA players to join the AAA team, Jake Buchanan and George Springer who continue to make the climb to the majors. In 82 innings with Corpus Christi, Buchanan went 7-2 with a 2.09 ERA, striking out 44 batters and walking just nine.  Buchanan has pitched in 18 games and started in 13 for the Hooks.  Springer’s batting average dipped just below .300 at .297, but he showcased power and speed with 19 home runs and 23 stolen bases.

The AA All-Stars
In Tuesday night’s AA All-Star game, six Corpus Christi Hooks made the roster: SP Jake Buchanan, SP Mike Foltynewicz, SP David Martinez, OF George Springer, OF Domingo Santana, and C Rene Garcia. Springer and Garcia started the game for the Texas League South All-Stars. Springer, who went 2-3 with 2 home runs, a walk, and one stolen base, was named MVP for the night.  Garcia did not get a hit but did manage to score a run after reaching base on an error.  The Hooks All-Star pitchers also had a good game with Martinez, Buchanan, and Foltynewicz each pitching an inning without giving up any runs.
