The Texans’ All-Pro left tackle, Duane Brown, missed Wednesday morning’s scheduled practice. Head Coach Gary Kubiak addressed Brown’s absence after the conclusion of practice, and said that Brown is having a minor procedure on an ankle to shave off a bone spur.

The ankle had been bothering Brown for some time, and the Texans medical and coaching staff made the decision on Tuesday to have the spur removed.

“He’s fine,” said Kubiak “we just wanted to make sure it’s not something that’s a problem when we go into camp. So we decided to do it.”

Brown was drafted in the first round in 2008, and was first team All-Pro as well as a Pro Bowler in 2012.
