HOUSTON (CBS Houston) – The Houston Texans signed rookie outside linebacker Sam Montgomery to a four-year, $2.6 million deal.  Montgomery (6-3, 262), a third-round pick out of LSU, had a career 19 sacks in 33 games in college.  In 2012, he received his second straight All-Southeastern Conference first-team selection after recording 8 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 37 tackles as a redshirt junior.  Montgomery was also a high school teammate of safety D.J. Swearinger, the Texans’ second-round draft pick.

Montgomery joins OLB Trevardo Williams, T David Quessenberry, WR Alan Bonner, DT Chris Jones and TE Ryan Griffin as members of the draft class that have signed with the Texans.
