HOUSTON (CBS Houston) A large grass fire burned in southeast Houston on Thursday and was located near a Houston-area high school.

Reports indicate that the fire broke out along Hall Road near Kingspoint just after 1 p.m. The fire is also located near Dobie High School.

According to Houston firefighters, the flames quickly spread, making their way to the Pearland area.

Pasadena ISD School officials stated that although the wind was blowing the smoke away from the school, there was no action being taken. School officials are remaining vigilant as they watch the fire.

Officials stated that about 20 acres burned. There were no injuries reported. A red flag warning was in effect in southeast Texas on Thursday and was scheduled to be in place until 5 p.m. The warning indicated that fires could spread rapidly. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Harris County has been under a fire danger warning this week due to the dry and windy conditions.
