Full seat auction on UHCougars.com starts Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m.

The University of Houston Athletics Department announced Monday plans to sell a limited number of stadium seats from the 70-year old Robertson Stadium that is in the process of being torn down to make way for a new state-of-the-art stadium.  The online auction on UHCougars.com kicks off Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. and will run through Friday, Dec. 14, at 12 p.m.

The standalone seats come from concourse seating areas throughout the stadium. Due to the way seats are mounted in Robertson Stadium, the Houston Athletics Department is unable to provide full seats from the seating bowl.  To extract individual seats from a continuous row requires demolition of one or more seats because all interior seats in a row share a single support mount.

A total of 35 individual standalone seats will be offered with the starting bid at $150 each.  A starting bid of $250 each has been set for 49 sets of double chair sets while $400 begins the bidding process for four different sets of four-chair sets.

In addition to the standalone seats, the Houston Athletics Department will auction a set number of seatbacks at a starting price of $100.

All purchases  must be picked up at the Yeoman Fieldhouse inside the Athletics/Alumni Center. Due to the size of the items no shipping will be provided. Auction winners can pick up their standalone seats from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20.

Houston Athletics previously offered an opportunity to all season-ticket holders in the seatback sections of the stadium to purchase their ticketed seatbacks. Any season-ticket holder who has yet to purchase their seatbacks can still do so up to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, by contacting Cougar Pride at cougarpride@uh.edu or 713-743-GoUH (4684).

All funds raised through the online auction will benefit University of Houston student-athletes. For more information please contact Cougar Pride at cougarpride@uh.edu or 713-743-GoUH (4684).
