Early Friday morning, authorities were looking for a driver they said purposely ran over and killed a woman in southwest Houston. The Houston Police Department stated that the incident happened near an apartment complex on Bellerive around 5:30 a.m.
According to investigators, it appeared that the female victim was pushed or dragged and then run over by the car; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional reports indicate that the suspect involved in the incident was driving a red Dodge Challenger with its rear window missing. The suspect then sped away. Authorities have probable cause to believe that a second vehicle may have been involved in the incident.
Several people were questioned by police at the scene and at the nearby apartment complex. Records indicate the victim made a phone call to her brother just before she was killed. Houston police continue to investigate the case.
