1200 McKinney Street, Suite 106
Houston, TX 77010
Established in 2004, Strip House may be one of the new kids on the block, but they sure know how to cook a steak. A 2010 Luxist Award nominee for one of the best steakhouses in the nation and awarded four stars by Forbes magazine in 2008, Strip House has certainly earned their stripes in just a few years of operation. The decor here is retro, yet with a modern twist, and there is plenty of appealing artwork, vintage photographs and memorabilia adorning the red walls. This place is best known for their perfectly-prepared prime cuts of Rib Eye and New York Strip, but their world-class side dishes and wine list help round out the perfect meal. A great place to impress a client or a date, Strip House also offers three private dining rooms for corporate events, bachelor parties or other functions. Visit the website or call to make reservations.
Taste of Texas
10505 Katy Freeway
Houston, TX 77024
Founded in 1977, Taste of Texas is a Houston steakhouse with a little more history. In 1984, they became the very first restaurant to serve Certified Angus Beef in the state of Texas, and they continue to be known for their prime cuts to this day. In 1985, they “laid to rest” their chicken fried steak recipe to concentrate all their efforts on cooking the perfect steak. Their efforts have paid off because the steaks here are “melt in your mouth good,” but they also serve other favorites like lobster tail, jumbo grilled shrimp, decadent sides, dessert and wine. One thing’s for sure – you won’t leave here hungry! Hours: Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday, 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
