In business since 1977, Heights Station spans 5,000 square feet and is chock full of treasures. You’ll find English, European and American furniture and other home furnishings, in styles that range from formal to primitive. The inventory is always changing, but typical stock includes collectibles, jewelry, lamps, stained glass, glassware, mirrors, and rock n’ roll and sports memorabilia. The store’s antique furniture includes Mission, Victorian and Empire styles, as well as primitive pieces. What makes this shop really special is that all the antique fans, lighting and radios are guaranteed to work. The staff here will also rewire and restore your old fans, radios and fixtures. For more than two decades, this shop in Houston’s Fourth Ward has been operated by owner Robert Novotney. Vintage cowboy books are the specialty item here (its hand-painted sign boasts more than 1,000 pairs), but you’ll also find other knick-knacks and trinkets in keeping with the Texas theme. The inventory is well organized, but the rest of the store’s interior and exterior is decorated with junk – literally. From knobs to broken picture frames, you’ll find just about everything adorning the walls of this charming Houston gem of store.
