For many Houstonians, dancing is done in lines, preferably while donning cowboy boots and tight jeans. If this is your idea of a night out dancing, you’re going to love Wild West Houston, located on the Richmond strip. The best of Texas and country music is combined here, where “two-steppin’ and longneckin'” is the motto. This country nightclub offers a solid oak dance floor, pool tables, a blackjack area, and plenty of good Tex-Mex eats. Request your favorite country song from the live DJ, swing your partner round the dance floor, and then take a seat and have your boots shined. Hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Sunday, 4:30 p.m. to midnight. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Touted as “the coolest place on earth” this Houston dance club offers a unique liquid ice jet system that can quickly cool the dance floor when things heat up. We’re not talking some light AC here; these jets can take the entire dance floor to 20 degrees in just seconds.
