Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurant was founded in 1979 by owner and chef Mary Bernal and has been a Houston favorite for many years. Whether you’re looking for delectable tamales, chips and salsa, traditional mole or the perfect margarita, Mary and her staff won’t disappoint. Specializing in both Tex-Mex and traditional Mexican dishes, what makes this Houston hotspot truly amazing is that they are open 24 hours a day (with the exception of Tuesday nights, when they close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 9 a.m. on Wednesday mornings). The food here is a great value for the price, with breakfast specials starting at $4.95 and lunch specials starting at $5.95.

Established in 1973 by Mama Ninfa, The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation has become a Houston landmark and definitely offers some of the best Mexican food in the city. Currently hosting Executive Chef Alex Padilla, who was born and raised in Honduras, Ninfa’s serves up brunch, lunch and dinner dishes that will keep you coming back for more. You won’t want to leave this establishment without trying one of their famous fajitas. Ninfa’s also offers catering and delivery, as well as a free shuttle service that takes patrons to and from events at the Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park.
