Described as “an experience, not just a night out,” MiX is an upscale restaurant, bar and karaoke lounge, beautifully decorated in red and gold with Asian influences. Karaoke fans have more than 10,000 songs to choose from in English, Vietnamese and Chinese, and those who prefer to sit back and enjoy the show will find a trendy, yet comfortable lounge atmosphere. In keeping with the upscale feel of the lounge, a dress code is enforced, so leave your flip-flops and cut-offs at home. Since you’ll be in the spotlight, why not dress for it? Located in Houston’s posh Westheimer neighborhood, Spotlight Karaoke is an upscale restaurant, bar and karaoke hotspot open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Spotlight offers a main floor and rooms for private parties, and you can even have your performance broadcast on the bar’s YouTube Channel. If performing helps you work up an appetite, you can enjoy a few rolls from the sushi bar. There is a five-dollar entry fee on weekends, and a two-drink minimum is always required to sing. Despite the bar atmosphere, private rooms can also be booked for kids’ parties. Spotlight also has a mobile unit that can be booked for off-site parties and other events. Advanced reservations are recommended for private parties, and main floor reservations are also encouraged to ensure entry on the weekends. Bar hours: Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Friday, 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
