Nothing beats a great evening of entertainment, and one of the most enjoyable forms of entertainment is live music. Here in Houston, there are hundreds of concerts held each year, and they often attract some of the top names in the business. These are Houston’s most notable 2013 acts; catch them while they’re in town.

Often referred to as the Blues Master, B.B. King has been entertaining audiences for more than four decades, and he is bringing his unique and often-imitated style to the Houston House of Blues in January. Considered a musical legend and ranked among the greatest guitarists in history by Rolling Stone Magazine, B.B. King has not let his age slow him down, and he can still perform with the best of them. His live shows are something everyone should witness at least once.

A little controversial but fun nonetheless, Lady GaGa brings her tour to Houston at the end of January. Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, Lady GaGa took her stage name from the Queen song, Radio GaGa, and her eccentric personality may be seen and felt at all of her live shows. Her performance at the Toyota Center will likely sell out, so interested fans should purchase tickets quickly.

A concert for the younger crowd, One Direction is bringing its high-energy show to downtown Houston in the summer of 2013. The English/Irish band is best known for its popular song “What Makes You Beautiful” and for its blockbuster debut album “Up All Night.” The boy band is most popular with teenage girls, but there is something in its musical library for everyone to enjoy this summer.
