St. Louis Rams
Two defensive-minded teams with sub-par quarterbacks produced the lowest-scoring game of the season last night. The Arizona Cardinals improved to 11-3 without scoring a touchdown, winning in St. Louis 12-6.
The Rams have been especially strong, as they are coming off back-to-back shutouts. While three in a row does not look likely, they could very well hold the visitor to less than two touchdowns.
The St. Louis Rams aren’t necessarily out of the playoff race, but one more loss could get them to that point. The Arizona Cardinals have struggled a little since Carson Palmer went down with a season-ending injury. Now, the two NFC West teams are going to battle it out on “Thursday Night Football” and CBS Sports’ Dan Fouts talked about how important the game is for both.
A win Thursday could put Arizona in the playoffs for the first time in five seasons; the simplest combination involves Dallas and Philadelphia not tying.
The Denver Broncos and St. Louis Rams are two teams heading in completely opposite directions, but sometimes that’s just the way the schedule falls. The Broncos don’t need a win this week, but want one. The Rams desperately need a win to try and save their season. CBS Sports’ Ian Eagle spoke about their upcoming game and looked at both sides of the spectrum.
