Because of the heavy rains falling in Houston and surrounding areas as well as the flooded areas, many schools have cancelled classes and after-school activities.
Heavy rain moved through Houston in the late morning hours of Wednesday while a flash flood watch continued for the majority of southeast Texas.
Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening.
Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be wet days in Houston and surrounding areas as heavy rainfall moves in. Area meteorologists also indicate that a flash flood warning is also in effect for all of southeast Texas counties.
