For more than 25 years, the mayor’s official 4th of July celebration, Freedom Over Texas, has lit the sky over Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou. This year is no different. Musicians including the Ernest Walker Band, Andy Vargas, Tamar Davis and Brent Carter will perform from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the celebration will conclude with a magnificent fireworks show over the downtown skyline in conjunction with performances by country music superstars Billy Currington and Sara Evans.
