Hall of Famer David Robinson joined the Triple Threat to talk about all things NBA. He said he hadn’t really heard much about LeBron James’s move because he’s been out of the loop. He said that he is a big fan of James Harden and that Harden is “a stud.” Robinson thinks the Rockets still have some question marks to work through. He said he really enjoyed playing under Gregg Popovich because of his no nonsense style of coaching. He discussed a charity event he is doing in town as well.
David Nuno of ABC Channel 13 joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Road Trip to discuss Carmelo Anthony’s visit to the Rockets today. He discussed the media frenzy surrounding Melo’s visit. He said if the Rockets don’t get Melo, they should go after Kyle Lowry or Kevin Love. Nuno thinks Melo will make a decision by next week and thinks if he does leave New York it will most likely be for the Rockets.
Tonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip traveled to New York to talk to WFAN’s Marc Malusis about free agency and potential trades in the NBA. He discussed the trades the Knicks have made so far in the off season. Malusis thinks that it is far fetched that Carmelo Anthony would be traded to the Rockets for James Harden. He talked about some of the possible moves that coach Phil Jackson is looking to make.
Mario Elie joined the B-Straw & Pauly G Show at Man Fest. He talked about how the Spurs have stepped up against the Heat. Elie doesn’t think that Melo is the right fit for the Rockets and believes Kevin Love or Chris Bosh would fit much better with the team. He thinks Harden can improve if he really commits to getting better at defense. He thinks LeBron will stay with the Heat but hope that Bosh will decide to leave to join the Rockets. Elie hasn’t been asked to work with the Rockets but would definitely be open to the offer.
Kevin Calabro joined MaD Radio to talk about how he didn’t intend to vote for James Harden on his second team Defensive All-NBA team.
Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey joined Mad Radio and they discussed the playoff loss to the Trail Blazers, how the defense and the late game offense needs to improve, James Harden’s defense or lack there of and did he consider dismissing Kevin McHale after the season.
