Senior Deputy Jessica Hollis radioed her vehicle was caught in a flash flood during Thursday’s storm. Her vehicle was found that day but she was not inside.
Heavy downpours were very much apart of metro Houston mid-day Sunday, with some areas seeing one to two inches of rain or more.
On Friday, a severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect for Houston as well as neighboring counties. Tumultuous weather and travel was on the minds of many as folks began their weekend.
Severe weather made its way through Houston in the overnight hours of Friday.
Because of the heavy rains falling in Houston and surrounding areas as well as the flooded areas, many schools have cancelled classes and after-school activities.
Heavy rain moved through Houston in the late morning hours of Wednesday while a flash flood watch continued for the majority of southeast Texas.
Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be wet days in Houston and surrounding areas as heavy rainfall moves in. Area meteorologists also indicate that a flash flood warning is also in effect for all of southeast Texas counties.
