The National Weather Service says the deadly tornado that struck near Oklahoma City late last week was another top-of-the-scale EF5 that packed winds reaching 295 mph. The weather service also says the twister’s 2.6-mile width is the widest ever recorded.
A storm that dropped tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area could bring high winds and heavy rains to the suburb that was recently hit by a deadly twister.
At least two tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma and another hit Arkansas on Thursday as a powerful storm system moved through the middle of the country. At least one injury was reported when a home was hit in rural western Arkansas.
