In less than a week, an NBA owner’s racist feelings were exposed to the world and swift action was taken by Commissioner Adam Silver to ensure that Donald Sterling was banned from the sport forever. But some question whether the NBA should also take a stand against individuals who use racial or homophobic slurs on the court during games.
The guys gas up their ride for a cross country trip from Atlanta to LA. They are first joined by Chris Domino from 680 “The Fan” in Atlanta, who talks about how well the Hawks are playing in their first round series against the Indiana Pacers. The Hawks had a sub-par regular season, but are shocking everyone as they take it to the Pacers. The number 8 seed Hawks are currently leading the series 3-2 going in to game six at home this Thursday. Next, they are joined by Arash Markazi from ESPN.com in L.A., who talks about the process of banning Los Angeles Clippers Owner Donald Sterling and what will happen next in terms of ownership of the team. He goes on to talk about how distracting the situation is to the team and how they will re-focus for the playoffs.
Julie Buehler, KXPS Team 1010 Los Angeles, came on The B-Straw and Pauly G Show to discuss the mess with Donald Sterling and the Clippers. She said that the reaction has largely been angry towards Sterling, but the fans still support their team and love their players. Buehler pointed out that the players are in a hard place between working for their personal success and their hard work benefiting Donald Sterling.
Tonight on the Road Trip the guys traveled to Los Angeles and Memphis. They started in Memphis to preview the Grizzlies going into the Playoffs with Chris Vernon of 92.9FM.
