T. D. Williams, Medium.com, joined MaD Radio to discuss an article he wrote on Daryl Morey. Williams explained why he has been critical of Morey because he hasn’t taken Houston “to the promised land” yet. He said he isn’t against the use of analytics in basketball, but says they have to be used careful. He said that Morey has created what he calls a “treadmill team” and doesn’t agree with his decision to not bring Chandler Parsons back. Williams said that he hasn’t felt Houston has really contended yet as they should have. He doesn’t think Morey is a terrible GM and he thinks the story has been over reported.
Having two max players should make it easier to land a third in NBA free agency. In theory. But what about Dwight Howard and James Harden? What’s their impact on the Rockets’ team-building? Grantland’s Zach Lowe […]
Chandler Parsons “Offended” By How Rockets Handled Restricted Free Agency, Offer Sheet From Mavericks
Chandler Parsons is reportedly very happy with his new three-year, $46 million contract from the Dallas Mavericks, made official late Sunday night when the Rockets decided not to match the offer sheet.
He’s reportedly less enthused about how he got there.
Fran Blinebury, nba.com, joined MaD Radio to discuss the most recent developments in the NBA. He said that the Rockets are not going to be contenders this year with their current lineup and will just have to try again next year. He said it’s hard to say whether or not the Rockets should have re-signed Parsons but he thinks they probably should have gone for it. Blinebury spoke about the journey the Rockets have been on so far with getting James Harden and Dwight Howard, but this situation with losing out in free agency has been a bit of a setback for the team.

Chadler Parsons signing his offer sheet (which has not been delivered to the Rockets yet) last night in a club with Mark Cuban. The video claims the club is in Orlando, Florida and Chandler looks pretty excited to be gaurenteeing himself somewhere in the range of $45 million for the next three years.
Once the signed offer sheet is delivered to the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey and company will have three days to match the contract or let Parsons walk to the Mavericks. There could also be a sign and trade between the two teams which many outlets have reported.
Brian Geltzeiler, hoopscritic.com, joined The Triple Threat to discuss NBA Free Agency. He discussed the probability of a sign and trade of Chris Bosh to Houston. He thinks if Houston can get Bosh and keep Chandler Parsons, they would definitely be a big contender. Geltzeiler thinks a lot of the rumors about LeBron to Cleveland could be misdirects leaked on purpose when he really intends to stay with Miami. He thinks Rockets are in a very tricky situation with Chandler Parsons while they try to go after a superstar and keep him at the same time. He also briefly commented on player and management issues that seem likely at some point.
Fran Blinebury from NBA.com joined Mad Radio and they discussed the latest in NBA free agency and where LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony and Chandler Parsons will end up.
Chris Sheridan of Sheridanhoops.com joined Mad Radio and they discussed where Carmelo Anthony will end up, will LeBron James leave the Heat, is there a chance for the Rockets to lose Chandler Parsons and what is good trade value for Kevin Love?
There could be a ‘sticking point’ for teams interested in signing Chandler Parsons to a long-term deal.
